33 Members From Girl Groups for Music Bank on 31st July – It’s Showdown Time!

It’s showdown time for the girl groups this summer on KBS 2TV on 31st July.

On Music Bank today, there will be a total of 38 female singers performing, and of these 38, 33 are from 6 different female girl groups. All the hottest girl groups have finally come together on one stage this summer.

The 6 girl groups are So Nyeo Shi Dae, 2NE1, Brown Eyed Girls, 4Minute, and also KARA with their comeback stage with ‘Wanna’ and ‘Mister’, and debut stage for group T-ara on Music Bank performing ‘Lies’.

We’ve been talking about the ‘war of girlgroups’ this whole summer, now it is really playing in front of our eyes!

SNSD Jessica and SHINee Onew to Perform ‘After 1 Year’ for the First Time

So Nyeo Shi Dae Jessica and SHINee Onew will perform the number ‘After 1 Year’ off So Nyeo Shi Dae 2nd mini album for the first time on stage on MBC Music Core.

Even without their live performance, the duet of Jessica’s delicate and Onew’s warm vocals is already a popular hit amongst music fans with the mini album release.

They will be doing this special stage as fan service for their fans this summer school vacation.

Also on Music Core on 1st August, So Nyeo Shi Dae member Yuri, HyoYeon, Sunny, YoonA, SooYoung and SeoHyun will be performing ‘In Summer’ a remake of Deux’s song.

ig Bang and Son DamBi To Be Featured For Brave Brothers’ New Album

The Brave Brothers (real name Kang Dong Chul) will be releasing his first single album ‘Attitude’ on 18th August. And there has been saying that Son DamBi and Big Bang, artistes who sang the songs he wrote, will be featured for this album.

From 2008 to 2009, Son DamBi has sung many hits written by the Brave Brothers like ‘Crazy’, ‘Saturday Night’; also there were Brown Eyed Girls with ‘What to do’, Big Bang with ‘Last Farewell’, After School with ‘Diva’. Brave Brothers have produced the many hits which took the Kpop zone by storm from 2008 to 2009. Not only did he write songs for the mainstream artistes, he has also worked on several underground artistes’ albums.

He said, “I am very thankful that the featured singers not only helped out with the songs, they even appeared for my MV. I am very thankful for these singers I have worked with this period of time. This album will bring good music with a new level of beat and sound.”

G-Dragon Will Sweep This Summer Away

As if expectations for Big Bang leader G-Dragon's solo album aren't high enough already, company president YG has now added to the hype. On a recent episode of 2NE1TV, he revealed to viewers, "Kwon Ji Yong is a really big deal. Up until now, he has been helping me produce for Big Bang's album, but for this album he did all the production work alone. Currently, nine songs have been completed. I really like them, been listening to them everyday. Its like he's going to sweep this summer away."

Gah! The hype is seriously killing me. Having been a G-Dragon fan since the group's debut, I can honestly say that the release of his solo album has been long overdue The man is pure genius. This Boy Loves CL More Than I Do

m a big fan of 2NE1's CL. I think she's incredibly talented, charismatic, and fierce as hell. I love watching her tear up the stage, and I get extremely irritated whenever somebody hates on her. So yes, I would consider myself a pretty big fan of hers.

But my desktop background is not of CL. Neither is my cell phone background. And I don't think about her 24/7 like this fanboy here does. He apparently goes by the name Slime, and boy, does he adore CL! He made a song for her set to the tune of an ice cream truck "Chain Hang Low" by Jibbs. A couple of my favorite lines: "I also like SNSD, but they can't compare to you," and "Back then I liked Sandara noona more, after I watched 'Fire', I totally changed my mind."

Lee Hyori not rushing to make a comeback

Ivy and Lee Hyori were reported to be making a comeback this October, increasing anticipation among fans. The news of Hyori making a comeback in October was a surprise though, considering that she had announced in May this year that she is delaying her comeback till 2010.

And now it looks like Mnet Media officials might have jumped the gun in announcing an October comeback for Hyori. Through her fancafe in Korea, Lee Hyori explained on the 29th, "I don't like to rush", maintaining her inital position that she wasn't in a hurry to release her album as yet. She added, "Nothing has been decided yet".



Hyori also wrote, "My contract with the company (Mnet Media) ends in November. I don't wish to rush and release an album just before my contract is up. I want to devote all my energies and attention towards producing a good album. It's difficult to say at the present moment, when (album release date) that might be. Whether it's the end of the year or early next year, I don't know. I am now in the process of picking out songs and am really serious in producing a good album for my fans. I hope that everyone can continue to wait for me and I will present the best of myself to everyone when it's completed."

So it appears that Mnet Media are trying to "force" Lee Hyori in releasing a final album for them, before her contract is up. Thankfully, Lee Hyori is in a much stronger position now compared to the past and it's probably wise to wait patiently for her comeback. So for fans awaiting for a Lee Hyori vs Ivy battle, that might have to wait.

2PM Nichkhun, “I want to try acting.”

2PM member Nichkhun recently expressed that he wants to give acting a try.

In an interview with SPN, he said, “In the future I want to try challenging myself and acting is one of my goals.”

Nichkhun added, ” I learnt a lot while I was on the Korean variety programmes. I’m very interested in all aspects of the entertainment industry in Korea. I think it would be fun to act in a sitcom.”

On 19th July, 2PM ended promotions for their third single on SBS inkigayo. They are in the midst of recording their new album as well as engaging in other individual activities on variety shows like “Introducing Stars Friend” and “Wild Bunny”.

Brown Eyed Girls to release dance version of “Abracadabra” music video

On 28th July, it was announced that Brown Eyed Girls will be releasing the dance version of the “Abracadabra” MV.

On 26th July, they performed the song at SBS Inkigayo and received huge response from viewers. The choreography consisted of them folding theair arms in a proud manner and moving their pelvis according to the beats in the music.

According to their agent, “We have decided to release the special dance version to ‘Abracadabra’ after seeing the good response we had from the audience. We hope to maximise the impact that that the song carries through the special dance choreography. The dance is simple but addictive and will attract many people to learn it. “

Meanwhile, Brown Eyed Girls’ full album was released on 20th July and has reached Number 3 on Cyworld music charts. The dance version of their music video will be out on July 28th at 11 am through GOMTV and internet music sites.

FT Island talks about education

In a recent interview, FT Island gave their thoughts on giving up high school edication, as well as how difficult it is to combine school and work.

Currently, members Choi Jung Hun, Lee Hong Ki and Jae Jin are attending university while Seung Hyun and Min Hwan are in high school. There was a difference of opinions between the university students versus the ones that are in high school.

Jong Hun and Hong Ki expressed, “We should attend high school education.” Hongki said, “Through education, we can make our dreams come true.”

But high school students, Min Hwan, Jae Jin and Seung Hyun objected, “We do not support what he said about high school education.”

Choi Min Hwan said, ” There are many things about life that we cannot learn through education. It is difficult to combine out school life and being in the entertainment industry.” Jae Jin continued, ” We can still self-study, in order to achieve our dreams in music. Learning the subjects in high school does not change our social life significantly.”

2pm’s “Wild Bunny” slated to be a regular programme

Cable channel Mnet ‘Wild Bunny’ starring 2PM will be a regular programme.
On 28 th July, a representative from Mnet expressed, ” From 6pm today, Wild Bunny will become a regular programme on our channel, it will broascast every Tuesday for 10 times.”
The pilot episode was aired on July 21st and accordind to AC Nielsen, it garnered ratings of 1.3% and was the number 11th watched show of the nation that day.
Mnet’s official said, ”Due to good response from netizens and viewers as well as the high ratings, Wild Bunny will be turned into a permanent weekly programme.”

Mnet’s “Wild Bunny” shows idol group 2PM attempting various challenges that they would not normally try to do. It will be an idol reality show presented in a whole new format.

SHINee three No.1 hits on Thailand’s music chart

SHINee’s second mini-album with their title song “Juliette” is number one on Thailand Channel V ’s Asian Countdown Chart for two weeks in a row. The Asian Coundown Chart is part of Thailand’s most popular music channel Channel [V] where viewers request songs, and the results are announced every Friday.

On July 14, SHINee released their second mini-album ‘Juliette’ in Thailand and sold 10,000 copies immediately. On July 14 and July 24, they became a hot favourite in Thailand as they topped the music charts for 2 weeks.

In November 2008, SHINee’s song “‘Love like oxygen” topped Thailand Channel [V] Asian Countdown Chart and MTV Thailand International charts, their next song “Amigo” too managed to clinch the number one spot on the same chart after its release.

SS501’s first public performance of new songs at Seoul concert

On 1st-2nd August, SS501 will be starting their first asia concert tour in the Gymnastics Stadium in Seoul, and will sing their new songs. This will be the first public performance of the songs from their solo collection album which is scheduled to be released in mid-August.

They are currently in the midst of pre-concert rehearsal for the concert, and to prevent leakage of them practising, high security has been hired to guard their practice area. The asia concert tour will be held for the first time since the debut of the SS501. Fans will be situated close to the stage allowing them to see SS501 clearer.
SS501 will also be touring in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Hongkong and Taiwan.
The concert will commence at 7pm and a press conference will be held at 5pm to announce their comeback into the music industry

Wilber Pan’s luck isn’t weak, he was selected to collaborate with Korean singer Lee Hyori, last week they shot the MV in Shanghai, besides kissing 12 times, the girl sat on his laps flirting. Making many men jealous.

In yesterday's episode of Family Outing, Hyori went nuts and started dancing to 2NE1's "Fire" much to the amusement of her cast members. Now, we all know Hyori's a big Park Bom fan since she made that surprise phone call to Bom on Maybee's Pump Up the Volume, but she apparently loves the rest of the group, too. SHINee’s photobook “DAY” sold out in 5 days

In a mere 5 days of the release of SHINee’s photobook “SHINee Day”, all copies have been sold out.
The photos were taken in March against the vast background of New Zealand’s beautiful landscape. Prior to the pre-sales, photos from the photobook were released and immediately became a hot topic among netizens.

There will be a second version of the photobook titled, NIGHT” which includes an interview video, scenes of the photoshoot and a DVD.

There has been focus on actor Kim Jisuk after he revealed that he had a special relationship with Sunny of SNSD.

Kim Jisuk surprised MC’s and guests on the ‘Playboys’ special of ‘Yoo Jaesuk and Kim Wonhee’s Come to Play’ after introducing his friendship with Sunny of SNSD.

On the show, Kim Jisuk garnered attention for stating, “I’ve actually known Sunny since she was in 5th grade. I was friends with her father so I visited her house quite a lot. Sunny’s real name is Soonkyu and she was just young and cute, so I would say ‘Hi Soonkyu~’”

Ha Jungwoo, who also appears in this episode, revealed the love story of him and girlfriend Goo Eunae, “One day, I was at cafe with Kim Jisuk and Kim Dong-Wook when 2 women stepped in. Coincidentally, one of the women was someone I felt attracted to after passing her on a street, not long before that day. Jisuk happened to know the woman, so I quickly told him to go and ask for her phone number. I moved away to call her and asked if she wanted to have a quick drink. She met me and we started to grow closer after that.”
